Beginning this Sunday, October 18th, fans can visit SonyStyle.com to pre-order any of the newly announced Sony VAIO computers including the Sony Style's exclusive Fall Signature Collection.
For gadget geeks like me, it gets us that much closer to "our precious"…(I am waking up early on the 18th to pre-order the new VAIO L Series desktop). Although pre-orders start on the 18th, all models ship on October 22nd for the exception of the VAIO X Series notebook which will ship in mid-to late November, and newer VAIO P series models which will ship by end of October.
Sony Style will be one of the very few places to purchase these new puppies and if you want to stand out, make sure to check out the new VAIO Signature Collection only available at Sony Style. Although these models won't be visible on the website until this Sunday, I'd like to give you a sneak peak into this Fall's Signature Collection along with other models you may not have seen yet. This sneak peak is our way of saying thanks to our small but loyal Sony Style blog following out there.

Gold VAIO X Series Notebook: Trumping its 2003 big brother (VAIO X505), the VAIO X Signature Collection notebook in gold is a must have. Amazing thought and innovation went into the creation of this model.
To achieve its ultra slim LCD without sacrificing the functionality, the internal glass panel and the polarizing panel were slimed down while retaining the functionality, from the already slim LCD of VAIO TT series. The LCD of select VAIO X series models achieve color purity 100% (u'v') and 8bit color gradation, without gaining the thickness, by customizing the internal glass panel, the polarizing panel, and the finish of the surface. And because it's so slim (but has a camera), a specially made thin cable was created to pass the camera cable through the very little space between LCD and the housing.
To achieve the super thin body, the single sided mounting technology has some wow factor. Usually, the components are mounted on both sides of a circuit board, but for VAIO X series all the components are mounted only on one side of the motherboard to achieve the thinness. And let's not forget one of my favorite aspects: The extended battery is included in the box so it's light, thin and longer battery life.
The black Signature Collection model is also the first time the Pink-Gold VAIO emblem is used. In addition to the elegant gold case, you can expect a premium SSD version at 128GB. Beginning October 22nd, Sony Style stores will have demo units available for customers to experience the VAIO X notebook hands-on. Sony Style are only stores in the entire United States offering this demo until the official ship date of mid to late November so If you cruise by a Sony Style store, make sure to pop in and let us know what you think.
VAIO FW Graphic Splash:

Called "Nebula", the FW590
custom CTO notebook has a fun and fashion forward design. Using elements of the
galaxy along with this year's runways as inspiration, this was designed
especially for VAIO Signature Collection by the Sony Design Center in Los Angeles.
It's the ultimate in geek meets chic.
The Indigo Blue VAIO CW Series Notebook:
If you've got a passion for fashion, then the Signature Collection VAIO CW notebook in Royal Indigo might suit you. Interestingly some believe that Indigo is associated with intuition and wisdom. The CW boasts a lustrous, high-gloss exterior and opens up to a subtle gradient of matching color on the palm rests. In addition to 512MB of dedicated video RAM for stunning graphics, it boasts the latest NVIDIA GeForce GT230M GPU (select models). That's a lot of performance for a 14" (diag.) display notebook. The VAIO CW notebook is also available with GT210M GPU but the Signature Collection model is the only model offering the higher GT230M GPU package.
VAIO Z Series "Dot Matrix":

The name is an ode to the coders out there. This cover designs brings angles and perception into the VAIO notebook cover. Peppered with various shades of gray, the Dot Matrix design creates the subtle diamond patterned look while keeping a sophisticated urban feel.
The
Ultimate Gaming VAIO FW Notebook:
Although this isn't a "Collection" model,
I couldn't not mention this model (as it's one of my favorites). This unit was
clearly designed by gamers for gamers. As you can see, the cover design is
meant to convey a machine like feel while under the hood, its set up for the
ultimate gaming experience. Specs include ATI Mobility Radeon HD4560 (1GB
dedicated VRAM) and 500GB (7200rpm) hard drive and will retail for $1069 USD.
Other Signature models
include some better, stronger, faster versions of both the P and SR you saw
from the Summer Signature Collection and will be on display (along with the product pages for the models previewed above) at SonyStyle.com
come Sunday. For more photos and specs, and to snag your unit pre-sales, come back on
October 18th!
